No crazy reports out of the harvest weekend so grains had a bit of a weaker tone Monday with corn giving back a chunk of Fridays rally, 423 1/4, minus 6 3/4. Beans off 3 1/2 to 1042 3/4 and wheat picked up 1 1/2 cents from pretty low pricing, still only 525. Rice up 3 cents, 1153, and I don't want to read too much into one day, but we are past 1/2 way in harvest, there are no lines, the crop is getting smaller, importers are running hand to mouth, and the seller seemed to run out of bullets. We still need a buyer. Switching to Dec for the Dow, 46,262 close is 73 points better. If you are in one of the indexes it cost you 340 points to roll. Ouch. Bonds recover 14 tics, 117.27. Powell should confirm the interest rate reduction Wednesday.
